Is there a Soho House in Boston? No. Here's where to go instead.
Soho House has no clubhouse in Boston. It does sell a membership to people who live here, and the city has real clubs of its own.
No, there is no Soho House in Boston, and as of late October 2026 none is announced. Soho House Boston exists only as a membership: Cities Without Houses, which lets Boston residents use Houses in other cities.
That's the short answer. The longer one is more useful. Below you'll find how that membership works from here, where the nearest Houses are, and how Boston's own private members' clubs compare. Most Boston clubs don't publish their dues, so where a number isn't public, we say so instead of guessing.
Is there a Soho House in Boston?
No. Soho House's own list of US Houses covers New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Chicago, Austin, Nashville and Portland, Oregon. Boston is not on it.
An independent directory, Soho House Insider, was updated on October 11, 2026. It shows Boston only as a Cities Without Houses entry. Its announced US projects are Venice Beach, Flatiron in New York, Palm Springs and Sonoma. Boston is not among them.
The company's own look at the year ahead points the same way. Its 2026 outlook names Tokyo, Los Cabos and several European projects, and doesn't mention Boston. Neither does coverage of its December 2025 announcement.
Will Soho House open a Boston House?
Nobody outside the company can say. There is no announcement, no site and no date.
Boston does have a signal in its favor. Soho House says Cities Without Houses lets it test whether a city suits a future House. It points to Hong Kong, Paris, Austin and Copenhagen, which all went from membership-only to a physical House.
The same coverage warns against reading too much into it. Executives told The Points Guy in 2023 that not every city on the list is likely to get a House in the next few years. Boston was on that list in 2022 too, and it still is. Treat a Boston House as possible, not planned.
Soho House membership in Boston: how Cities Without Houses works
What you get
Soho House describes Cities Without Houses as a global membership for people with no House in their city. It offers the same access as its full Every House membership, at a special rate.
The Every House page lists 48 Houses in 19 countries, best rates on bedrooms, up to three guests, and use of Soho's gyms, spas and pools. You apply online, or send an inquiry first.
Soho House also says members get local events, such as dinners and pop-ups. Ask what's actually running in Boston before you pay.
What it costs
Soho House's pricing page loads rates through a selector, so we couldn't read a printed figure from it. Soho's own explainer says Cities Without Houses has no registration fee, and that people under 27 pay half price.
An independent tracker, Soho House Insider, lists the Boston membership at $4,300 a year with a $0 joining fee, and $2,150 for under 27s. It says it checked on October 23, 2026. This isn't an official source, so confirm the number when you apply.
Where the nearest Houses are
The closest Houses on Soho's list are in New York City: Soho House New York, DUMBO House and Ludlow House. If you're in Boston every week, a membership built around travel may not earn its keep. If you're on the road a lot, it might.
Boston private clubs compared

What "members only" means in Boston
A members-only club in Boston can mean two different businesses. The Tavern Club is classed as a 501(c)(7) social and recreation club, per Wikipedia. The 'Quin House, by contrast, is a for-profit company that runs a philanthropic fund, according to the Globe. In practice that changes how dues are set, how members are chosen and who the club is trying to attract. Older clubs lean on sponsorship and tradition. Newer ones tend to describe themselves in terms of mix: ages, professions and backgrounds.
Which Boston club fits you?
If you want something closest to Soho House
The 'Quin House is the one people compare to it. It occupies the former Algonquin Club building, per its FAQ, and Boston Magazine named it 2025's best members-only club. The club says membership is by member referral, with a one-time initiation fee and yearly renewal. It doesn't print the amounts.
For a sense of scale, the Boston Globe reported launch-era rates in 2021. They ran from $1,250 to $4,000 to start, and $2,000 to $4,000 a year, depending on age. A discounted track existed for nonprofit, arts and civic members. Those figures are five years old, so use them only as a rough guide. The 'Quin FAQ describes the arts, civic and non-profit track as a two-year term. We found no mention of workspace on its homepage or FAQ.
If you went to the right school
The University Club asks for a degree, age 21 or older, one sponsor and two co-sponsors. The Harvard Club gives members a third-floor Member Commons that doubles as a lounge and a place to work remotely.
If you want old Boston
The Union Club dates to 1863. The Tavern Club dates to 1884 and admits members by invitation. The St. Botolph Club leans toward the arts and public affairs. A 2017 Boston.com piece groups Union, Somerset, Algonquin and St. Botolph as highly selective old-line clubs, and gives no dues for them. That story is nearly a decade old, and the Algonquin building is now home to the 'Quin.
If you want a quieter, social-first club
The College Club sits in a Back Bay brownstone at 44 Commonwealth. It was founded in 1890 as the first women's college club in the United States. Today it runs book clubs, teas, author talks, concerts and Victorian guest rooms.
Other ways to get the perks
If the real draw is a pool, a gym or a quiet table rather than a membership card, you may not need one. Our guide to Boston hotel day passes covers pool, spa and gym access you can buy for a day. And if the goal is a good place to work, start with where to work in Boston or how coworking spaces compare with a hotel lobby.
Create: a members' club in Boston's five-star hotels
Create is a new private members' club for the people building what's next: founders, investors, operators, creatives, independent talent and remote workers. It is not open yet. Opening night is Friday, January 15, 2027, at three five-star hotels in Boston that open the same night. The hotels' names go to members first.
The idea is premium space to work, with the all-inclusive treatment. Members get a concierge on arrival, a coffee or drink every visit, Wi-Fi, and the gym, pool and spa at partner hotels. There are rooms to meet, booked in the app, plus Create Nights every week and a monthly Demo Night. Create Sharks puts local investors and mentors on demand. A flagship, Create HQ, follows later.
The first 200 founding members in Boston pay $99 a month, kept for as long as they stay. After that it's $149. Joining the waitlist is free, with no payment until you're accepted, and applications are reviewed within 48 hours.
How to choose a Boston members club
Ask every club the same five questions before you apply. What are the initiation fee and annual dues? How long does the application take? Who can bring guests, and how many? Can you open a laptop? And what happens to your fee if you move?
A club that answers plainly is usually a club that runs well. If one won't discuss cost until you're nominated, that tells you something too. Then pick the one you'll actually use. For more on meeting people here, our guide to Boston startup events is a free place to start.
