Boston hotel pool, spa and gym day passes, with prices

Which Boston hotels let you swim, steam or lift without booking a room, what each pass includes and what it costs right now.

Yes, you can use a Boston hotel's pool, spa or gym without staying the night. You buy a day pass. ResortPass Boston is the main place to do it, with in-city pool passes from $28 and spa passes from $45 to $175.

Marriott runs its own pass site too, and a few spas sell access only with a treatment. Below is what we could verify in late October 2026: where each pass is, what it includes, how to book and what it costs as published. Prices change by day and season, so use them as a guide, not a quote.

ResortPass Boston: which hotels sell day passes

ResortPass is a marketplace for day access to hotels. You reserve online, then check in at the front desk with your confirmation and a photo ID. Its Boston page says no overnight stay is required. Most bookings can be canceled or rescheduled up to 24 hours before check-in for a full refund. Late changes may cost a fee.

One thing to know before you scroll the listings. The Boston page also pulls in suburban hotels in places like Newton, Burlington and Needham, where pool passes start as low as $22. The Royal Sonesta, listed as Boston, is across the river in Cambridge. The table below sticks to hotels in or right beside the city.

Omni Boston Seaport, 450 Summer StreetHeated rooftop pool, hot tub, fitness center, towels. Adults 18 and up. 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.ResortPassFrom $90. Not sold Memorial Day to Labor Day

Pool passes usually cover the pool, a lounger or towels and the gym. Food and drinks are add-ons. Many listings state no age limit, so ask the hotel before bringing kids.

The Omni's rule is the odd one. Its listing says the pass is not available from Memorial Day to Labor Day, so you will not use that rooftop in peak summer through ResortPass. For other rooftop options, see our guide to Boston rooftop pools.

Marriott's iDayPass in Boston

iDayPass is Marriott's own day pass site, not a ResortPass feature. Its Boston page lists five hotels: Boston Marriott Long Wharf, Renaissance Boston Seaport District, Boston Marriott Copley Place, Sheraton Boston Hotel and Boston Marriott Newton. You pick a date, and each hotel shows whether it is bookable that day. On the day we checked, Long Wharf, the Renaissance and Newton showed no availability.

The Sheraton pass covers its saltwater pool, the fitness center with Peloton bikes, lounge chairs, towels, lockers and Wi-Fi, from $33.38. The Copley Place pass covers its heated indoor pool and fitness center, from $33.38. Those are within a dollar of the ResortPass prices, so book whichever has your date.

Other apps: Dayuse and hotel day rooms

Dayuse sells something different: a private hotel room for a few daytime hours. Its Boston-area listings include InterContinental Boston at US$195 for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with pool access tagged as included, and Battery Wharf Hotel at US$159. That suits a nap, a quiet call or a shower between meetings. ResortPass sells day rooms too, such as the InterContinental's from $218 for two guests.

If you just need a desk, a hotel lobby or café costs less. We rounded those up in where to work in Boston. Beyond ResortPass, iDayPass and Dayuse, we found no other pool-pass app listing Boston hotels.

Spa day pass Boston: where to book one

Spa access in Boston comes in two forms. Some spas sell an entry pass to the saunas and lounge. Others sell treatments, with the heat and water facilities included.

A few notes. At the Omni, the spa is a separate purchase from the pool pass, and its Breve Spa keeps shorter days than the pool, so check which days it is open. At Mandarin Oriental, the hotel itself tells visitors to call ahead about facilities. At Four Seasons, an older 2019 Boston Magazine piece said the spa, pool and gym were open to the public. The hotel's current spa page does not repeat that, and its hours have since changed. Ask before you go.

Encore sits in Everett, not Boston proper, so factor in the trip.

Gym day pass Boston: hotel and neighborhood options

Hotel pool passes above include a fitness center, so that is the easiest hotel route. Boston Marriott Cambridge sells a gym-only fitness pass from $39 on ResortPass. Local gyms are often cheaper.

If you travel often, the TrainAway app sells day and week passes at partner gyms without a membership. Open its map to see which Boston gyms take part, since we could not confirm a list.

Which pass should you pick?

  • Cheapest swim: Hyatt Regency, Renaissance or Royal Sonesta, from $28.
  • Lap swimming: The Sheraton saltwater pool, which Marriott calls one of the largest hotel lap pools in Boston, from about $33 to $34.
  • Skyline and a hot tub: The Omni rooftop, from $90, outside summer.
  • Swim, steam and fitness in one: InterContinental Boston, from $73.
  • Just the sauna: Exhale Battery Wharf, from $45.
  • Gym only: BU FitRec at $15 or SoWa at $40.

Pair a swim with a drink at one of the best hotel bars in Boston, since most pools sit in hotels that have one. Before you pay, check the hours on the pass, which can be shorter than the pool's, and the cancellation window.

If you would rather not buy a pass every time

Day passes are flexible, and for an occasional swim they are the right call. They also add up. Four visits to a $34 hotel pool pass comes to $136, before a gym or spa pass on another day.

Create is a private members' club in Boston's five-star hotels, built for founders, investors, operators, creatives, independent talent and remote workers. Membership includes the gym, pool and spa at partner hotels, plus a place to work: Wi-Fi, a concierge on arrival, a coffee or drink on us every visit and rooms to meet, booked in the app.

Create opens Friday, January 15, 2027, at three five-star hotels in Boston, and members learn the names first. The first 200 founding members pay $99 a month, kept for as long as they stay. After that it is $149. Joining the waitlist is free, you pay nothing until you are accepted, and applications are reviewed within 48 hours. Until January, the passes above are your best option.

Questions people ask

Can you use a hotel pool in Boston without staying there?

Yes, at many hotels. You buy a day pass, usually on ResortPass or Marriott's iDayPass site, then check in at the front desk with your confirmation and a photo ID. Passes typically cover the pool, a lounger or towels and the gym. A few hotels, such as Encore Boston Harbor, keep the fitness center for guests only.

How much does a hotel day pass cost in Boston?

In late October 2026, in-city hotel pool passes on ResortPass started at $28 and reached $90 at the Omni Boston Seaport. Spa passes ran from $45 to $175. Prices change by date, day of the week and season, and ResortPass listings show fees included, so check your exact date before you book.

Can you cancel a ResortPass booking?

ResortPass says most bookings can be canceled or rescheduled up to 24 hours before check-in for a full refund. Late cancellations may carry a fee, and each property sets its own terms, which appear during booking. Read the policy on the specific pass before you pay, especially for spa treatments.

Which Boston hotels have a spa that non-guests can use?

Mandarin Oriental, Four Seasons One Dalton Street and Encore Boston Harbor all take spa bookings from visitors. Exhale at Battery Wharf and the Equinox spa sell spa passes through ResortPass, and InterContinental Boston includes a steam room in its day pass. Mandarin Oriental notes that some facilities may not be open to visitors, so call first.

Where can I get a gym day pass in Boston?

SoWa Health + Wellness sells a one-day pass for $40, and Boston University's FitRec sells one for $15. Hotel day passes at the Sheraton Boston, Hyatt Regency and others include a fitness center. The YMCA of Greater Boston offers a day pass by request, and Beacon Hill Athletic Clubs advertises a free trial for local residents.

Is ResortPass the same as Marriott's iDayPass?

No. ResortPass is an independent marketplace covering many hotel brands. iDayPass is Marriott's own site. In Boston they overlap at the Sheraton Boston Hotel and Boston Marriott Copley Place, which showed about $33 to $34 on both. If you are flexible on the date, compare the two.
